Dance like no one is watching

This morning as I was getting ready for work I heard 'Thriller' start
to play on the radio...(my heart rate doubled and my feet started
tapping)

What was I to do but get my dance on?! Right?

Had great fun singing and dancing and it felt so good.

To top it off they played it till the very end...'ha ha ha ha ha'....

Special times...

This morning I have just discovered that my laptop seems to have given
up on life...ok not completely however it has let it's ability to pick
up my Internet connection die. I have tried all types of remedies and
right now I think it needs some rest. Why am I telling you this? Well
I wanted to share pics with you that I downloaded off my camera and
now I won't be able to.

Well onto my post....

Mahesh and Rashika were en-route home from Mahesh's graduation in
Switzerland and stopped over for the day and night in Dubai.

We made an early start to the day and got up to all sorts of
exploring. Brekkies at 'Dean and Deluca' at Dubai mall overlooking the
fountain area,a quick trip onto the Palm to the Atlantis hotel(planned
on having lunch there however not much to choose from for visitors not
staying at the hotel),a little bit of shopping, a much needed coffee
fix at Starbucks,a trip to the 123rd floor of the Armani hotel located
in the tallest building in the world...Burj Khalifa(we had a window
seat and took in the city views and lights),caught the musical
fountains together and ended off with a most yummy dinner at Nandos.

I had such an awesome day. To be able to share these experiences in
another part of the world with my special friends was so so good for
my soul.

We sure made the most of every moment of the day...after all life is
for living and making the most of these precious moments right?

A sign from mum

This morning I woke up to a message from my dear friend Joanne. The
message mentioned that last night when she was at church praying for
the people who have passed on mum came to her and was mentioning her
love for me and mentioned that she is watching over me. I immediately
got goosebumps as this past week I had a personal experience myself
that has been playing on my mind.

A night or two before mums five months I woke up in the early hours of
the morning to the scent of her body lotion that I brought back with
me when I was last home. It's in the bathroom in her toiletry bag and
the bizarre thing is I have not opened the bottle since I am in this
new flat and I smelt it in my bed which is in the room next door.

Well we all have our own views on these types of things or signs
however I feel it's my mum letting me know that she is here with me. I
speak to her every morning and night while looking at the picture
next to my bed of her and my dad.My ritual is to then ring my
beautiful solid silver heart which has a soothing bell sound in it
while I close my eyes and I channel my thoughts,love and gratitude to
my folks.

The funny thing about this which dawned on me as I type this post is
that Joanne gave me that solid heart as a farewell gift to bring to
Dubai.

I guess mum is letting me know that she hears me. Thanks mum for being
subtle with a scent of a lotion and nothing to freak me out!!!!

Mapping out 2012 and beyond

This morning I would like to share two sports events plugged solidly
into my vision this past week that I would like to achieve in this
lifetime.

-Experience the 'Berg and Bush' mountain biking ride in a team up with
Aroon once I am settled back in S.A

-Experience a 'Two oceans' half marathon run alongside Tatum

Sue is back

I took a bit of a dip with my consistency and dedication my gym routine while packing up my life to come to Dubai. It was pretty tough juggling all sorts of things however I still packed in workouts whenever I could get a gap.Since my arrival in Dubai I have been at it again and right now I can proudly say that I am back to being that dedicated machine that I was ;)

I have started using 'My Fitness pal' to keep a track of my food intake and to log my exercise sessions. I am feeling good and am on a role again. I am also reading up more and more on the body and am more so in tune with my physical being. I have paid a lot of 2010 focusing on my mental state and I think am on track to balancing mental and physical.

Cheers to honoring the body that carries me around!

Happy Sunday

This morning I am getting ready to experience a Sunday at work. Not
too bummed about it as I am doing it as a favor and I get to
experience Monday and Tuesday off this week. I have extra gas in the
tank and am ready to see what it is all about. It's the first day of
the work week in Dubai so it's pretty strange for me. How are you
spending your Sunday? Enjoy...enjoy...enjoy.

So this morning I thought I would dig a little deeper in my research
to see why I can't attach images onto my posts off my blog posts.
Seems this is a bit of a problem which I am still investigating.

This morning I have decided to test the ability to email a blog post
so let's see if this works with an image attached.
