Before cellphones attacked society

Then and now....

Then and now...

Then and now...

Then and now...

Then and now...

We now have signs such as these....

This is the cherry on the top...

I am stunned at how technology has taken over....I really get sad when I see people drawn into their cellphones. Too many people are missing out on the beauty of a simple conversation or missing out on a beautiful scene. Its all too scary for me.

Feeling deep gratitude this morning

Post my beautiful morning run and greeting the sun in his opening act I came back to the flat feeling deeply grateful to have experienced ANOTHER beautiful sunrise. WOW!WOW!WOW!No matter where in the world you find yourself that morning sunrise and evening sunset really is such a surreal experience. It is a symbol of many things for different people.I pulled out my gratitude journal and couldn't stop writing down all the beautiful things that happened between yesterday and this morning. I actually ended up adding more to the previous days entry as my mind started dipping back into the previous day again and I discovered more things to be grateful for.One is always surrounded by natural beauty no matter how dull the scene might be.Here too in the "sandpit" where my sis says "Plascon didnt quiet make it to Dubai"(I couldn't agree more) there is beauty all around.(I do miss colour in my life big time)One just need to adjust the lens.Thank you to each one of you who brings such joy and love into my lifes story.
You make my life sweeter :)

Throwing some "Aqua Zumba" into the mix

SO yesterday I accompanied Lecia to her second aqua zumba class.I didnt really set any expectations in my mind and having seen Zumba advertised all over I knew its bound to be fun. Firstly when we arrived there it was interesting for me to see that the location is at a "ladies club" which houses a spa,art and creativity centre, gym studios, two swimming pools,a cafe and a strip of beach for ladies only. To my surprise the class was in an outdoors pool. I guess I have become used to everything being indoors so as soon as I saw that I was extra excited. There was a decent turnout versus their last class where Lecia was one of three participants and this is due to the fact that all the kids have gone back to school after a 3 month holiday so all the housewives are able to resume back to their usual mornings at the ladies club. Our instructor "Jess" of course fitted the profile of what my mind perceives to be a Zumba instructor. Tanned,Brazilian looking toned figure wearing a bright outfit of sorts and bubbling over with smiles and energy. She really was a fun character and got the group going. The participants seemed to be having a grand time and with so many people in the water when we were instructed to change direction in the water the resistance was that much more tricky! Jess of course was moving at top speed on land and we had to keep up in the water. I had no doubt that she herself is aware that we cant exactly keep up at her pace and she re-assured her that she does ;) Eventually I guess we will beable to build up to a faster pace.
The Brazilian style music, moves and a mix of other cultural music and moves sure added that much more fun to the class and I felt in my element. What more could I ask for....I was in the pool....had Jess there keeping us going...I was kind of dancing and each time I had to turn around in the water I had the view of the ocean.Need I say more! I kept thinking of my friend Joanne back in Jhb who is religously doing her Zumba workouts everyday and wow I have just seen a recent picture of her. She is looking gorgeous. Joanne you def have me inspired to add some Zumba to my mix of exercising. Yay to new experiences in Dubai....
