An extract from my gratitude journal December 2010

This was written between the 20th and 24th December 2010 and unlike me
I didn't write the exact date on this entry but just the month and
year. Thanks to my dear friend Hangwi who now lives in 213
Perspectives for bringing me my 2010 gratitude journal to the airport
last week. I clean forgot I had left it there...I was safe guarding it
till the end.

Here is the entry:

-A beautiful sunset with Pooh
-A spur of the moment fun evening for Zac's birthday
-A chat with Aroon
-A most yummy lunch with Aunty Anilla and co.
-Mum here for another Xmas and New year
-A beautiful city

Smartie binge

Sitting at Dubai airport waiting to board my flight to Cape Town baby!

Finally the day arrived...its been eating me inside not being able to
be with my family at this absolutely special time. My brother Adhil is
getting married this Friday....um actually thats tomorrow! It's
already Thursday here in Dubai.

I am somewhat very calm and relaxed pre this flight which is
fantastic! I think the excitement is overwhelming and calming my
anxiety about flying.

So what's with the smarties...well I had been really wanting to get my
hands on some for a while now and so while I sit here and enjoy people
watching I am enjoying a good few. Shouldn't be eating these at this
time of morning but hey my mini break mode has kicked in.

I must say I am very impressed with the self check in counters at the
airport where you also check your own luggage in. I also saw neatly
stowed prams for parents with little ones for use to your gate. Saw an
adorable site of Asian triplets in their red prams all dressed alike
with hello kitty bags on their laps. Pity I couldn't take a pic and
they were all three having a little people's conversation.

I love people watching(incase you didn't know that about me)and doing
so at an airport is one of my favorite things to do. Right now there
are people asleep around me on chairs that are in a reclining angle.
There again most impressed. Hmmm I wonder what's there in the business
class lounge...actual bedrooms I guess?!

Okie dokes best I finish this blog post...I need to down a few more
smarties and keep people watching.

Xmas cheer in Dubai

Yesterday walking through the souk at work I was pleasantly surprised to see Xmas trees, bits of decor and our built up "Xmas winter wonderland" coming to life. For some unknown reason I had it in my headspace that there won't be too much decor around these parts however there is definitely a Xmas cheer to be felt.

Today is our staff Xmas party in the office which is at midday. We are doing the 'secret Santa gift exchange' and I still have to wrap my gift this morning. I drew our team leaders name and I figured a smart grey sporty t-shirt for a young lad would be appreciated. We had a wish list up in the office where you could jot down what you would like however he was one of two who left the field blank!!!! Let's see if it's a winner when he opens it....After the feast at lunch time we are then having our management Xmas dinner at a restaurant at one our hotels next door to the one I am based at. We are going to experience an 'evening brunch'. Never heard of an evening brunch until I started working here. I am particularly excited about this as it's at one of the restaurants that I have been wanting to try out for the longest time and wanted to do it before the year draws to an end. We receive many raving reviews for this international buffet style restaurant. No no it's not your typical buffet....it's on another level I tell you. Pics to follow.

Now what do I wear? I don't have any red or green colours to wear as per the theme however I have a red belt that will have to do.

Here's to new experiences in Dubai :)

Dance like no one is watching

This morning as I was getting ready for work I heard 'Thriller' start
to play on the radio...(my heart rate doubled and my feet started
tapping)

What was I to do but get my dance on?! Right?

Had great fun singing and dancing and it felt so good.

To top it off they played it till the very end...'ha ha ha ha ha'....

MJ-you legend you!
